Founded in Pietermaritzburg, Midlands Wanderers gained prominence by winning the 2024–25 SAFA Second Division KwaZulu‑Natal Stream A, emerging as provincial champions and then triumphing in the KwaZulu‑Natal playoffs to secure a spot in the national playoffs. They subsequently finished third in the national playoffs and earned promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship (National First Division) for the 2025–26 season
Under the guidance of founder and head coach Vincent “Masenti” Myeni, the club credits its success to collective hard work, discipline, and team unity.
